One of the things I love most about writing this blog is finding meaning in the things that happen in our everyday lives. Routine events. Simple actions. Memorable experiences. Within them all is a lesson. About life. About ourselves. About the world around us. It is easy to overlook these things as they happen. But if we stop — even if for a just a moment — I think we can learn a thing or two.
My goal with Lessons and Love is not to preach to anyone. It’s only to share what I’ve learned through my routine events, simple actions, and memorable experiences. It’s to remind others that none of us are in this alone.
Life is rough. Parenting is hard. We all want to do well. To matter. We all want fulfillment — whatever that might be —but sometimes we don’t know what it looks like or how to get there. I believe the answers are around us all the time. It’s just that we’re usually too busy keeping our heads above water to see them.
That’s what this blog is all about. It’s about finding our way. It’s about realizing we’re not alone and that others are fighting the same fights and tackling the same challenges. It’s here to help us see the entire forest despite being consumed with so many trees. Most importantly it’s here for all of us to determine what matters most — to ourselves and our families.
So, welcome. Thanks for stopping by. From here, my suggestion is you turn on the TV to distract the kids, grab a cup of coffee, and read through some of the latest posts. Enjoy the ride.
About Me
I’m RJ Licata. I’m a digital marketer by day and a writer by night. I have a beautiful wife, Danielle. I’m also a dad of three: Joey, Gianna, and Gabrielle. Life is crazy but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. In 2014 I wrote my first book, Lessons for Joey: 100 Things I Can’t Wait to Teach My Son and in 2016 I published another, a children’s book called Where Greatness Lives.
